Clopton is a widely spaced village comprised mainly of farmland, around 140 residential homes and small businesses. The arrangement of Clopton's roads means there is no village centre common to all houses. There is a very good village hall with playing field in the village, which gets plenty of bookings (see Village hall and What's On) but, for shops and a pub, residents have to go slightly further afield.
